Matsuo Taisha Shrine

Sanmon of Matsuo Taisha Shrine

Last week, I saw some cherry blossoms in Arashiyama that were still in bud, so I went there again the following week, but they were past their peak of bloom. Instead, I went back to Matsuo and went to Matsuo Taisha. This is the shrine that I go to for New Year's visit every year. The precincts of the shrine were surrounded by refreshing greenery. There were still beautiful pink cherry blossoms on the side of the approach. It seems that cherry blossoms also have different blooming times.
At this time, the wind was quite strong, and the petals of the cherry blossoms in full bloom were flying around. In the precincts, all the priests were busy cleaning up fallen leaves and flower petals.

I ended this year's cherry blossom photography by taking a photo of the cherry blossoms in full bloom at the temple grounds in the early morning. On this day, it was only sunny early in the morning, so I made the right decision to go out early (8:00-9:00).

Dedicated Japanese sake barrel

Matsuo Taisha is also known for the god of sake, and there is also an exhibition hall showing the sake manufacturing process. Barrels of various brands of sake are lined up in front of the warehouse after entering the Sanmon gate.It seems that there are almost all famous sakes. Since it was morning and there weren't many people, I took a photo that included the main hall.
