Downstream of Togetsukyo Bridge
The cherry blossoms in Kyoto were in full bloom on April 9th. Moving by car is not possible at this time of year, so I strapped a tripod to the back of my motorbike and carried a bag full of my camera equipment. First, I went to Arashiyama, a popular spot in spring and fall. First, I took a photo of the cherry blossoms from the left bank of Arashiyama, which was featured in the photo magazine Asahi Camera, with Togetsukyo Bridge in the background.
It was crowded with people taking pictures, probably because the magazine had introduced this shooting location in detail.A wide-angle lens would show too many people in the photo, so I decided to use a telephoto lens to capture only the scenery. I took a photo with Arashiyama Park and Horinji Temple on the other side of the Katsuragawa River in the background.

Upstream of Togetsukyo Bridge
From upstream of Togetsukyo Bridge, the Katsura River changes its name to Oigawa River. (Further upstream is the Hozu River)
The Mifune Festival is held in this area, and it is an inner Kyoto parlor with many high-class restaurants lined up along the river. Beautiful cherry blossoms were blooming at a Japanese restaurant a short distance from Togetsukyo Bridge. Tourists riding rickshaws stopped to take commemorative photos of the cherry blossoms in front of Arashiyama Kitchomon Gate. This was a privilege only for those who came this weekend. The key to sightseeing in Kyoto is to choose a good date.
Arashiyama Nakanoshima Park
The area around Arashiyama Park's famous weeping cherry blossoms was packed with people. Many sheets are laid out and the party continues until late at night. Arashiyama is not closed at night, so it is a popular spot for cherry blossom viewing parties.

The cherry blossoms in Arashiyama Park still had quite a few buds left. I thought it would be okay for a little while, but when I came back the next week, it had completely scattered.I apologize for the inconvenience caused by setting up a tripod and taking pictures next to the cherry blossom viewing party. However, in return for the inconvenience, I took photos of other people.
